A new Texas A&M University study on urban mobility shows traffic delays Baton Rouge drivers by an average of 58 hours each year.

For metro areas with populations between 500,000 and 1 million people, Baton Rouge ranks 24th worst in the nation in this yearly delay per commuter.

The study indicates a 20 minute drive on open roads in Baton Rouge would take 27.2 minutes during an average rush hour, 6th worst in the nation for its size.

On average, Baton Rouge drivers pay $1,010 each year in missed opportunities because of delays and for the 25 gallons of additional gas required to maneuver through yearly traffic. Baton Rouge residents lose out on a total of $525 million each year because of this, according to the study.

I wonder how much of it is related to a congested I-10 bridge

Got a job where I can work from home and drive in for meetings. Saving me 2-4 hours a week in travel over the last

I’m a solid 6-8 a week. That’s more like 17 days a year. I’d have to imagine anyone that lives in LP or ap and works in btr would be the same or more. Bogus study

i drive 40 miles each way, that’s my choice
however it takes an hour, so that’s 20 minutes 2x a day minimum not counting the traffic in town during the day

40 minutes a day x 5 = 200 minutes a week x 50 is 10000 minutes or 167 hours. 167 hours is almost 1 week out of every year I spend in bumper to bumper traffic

I call BS on 7.2 minutes. Maybe for workers with 6:30am-3:30pm shifts or it they have short commutes around town.

This doesn’t make any sense.

I live in Texas and feel like I spend at least 2 days stuck in your traffic every year just passing through to visit family living east of there.

Where the hell is the damn loop around that piss poor of an excuse for a functioning city?

I swear y'all would never see me again in BR if there was a way to go around it.

Spot on math for AP residents. And that’s IF you live in the Dutchtown area. Prairieville may be a bit worse.
