I assumed he was talking about the S Ardenwood area. Though he could mean North Blvd, Ogden Park, or even Melrose.

This is dumb. Yes the area is fine. Old Goodwood has a ton of million dollar homes. Capital Heights is popular as hell. Government St is revamped and has a shite load of excellent restaurants, Mid City Beer Garden, Cypress Coast Brewery, etc etc etc. Yes, it’s near bad shite. Lock your car doors at night and don’t so stupid shite. If you are scared of black people, move to Prairieville and eat at Walk-Ons every night.

Katrina changed a lot along Government. Used to live in Capitol Heights which was beginning to turn bad since 2008. Went from college grad school renters to vocal LGBT

Also, North Baton Rouge lets their dogs off the chains at night to forage. If you have pets don't leave them out at night. A pack of dogs will attack. Happened to one of my wife's pets. Veterinarian who GTF away and moved from Government to Highland told us how that went down.

Also, after Katrina, a lot of foot traffic in Capital Heights neighborhood slow walking and looking during the day. Shotguns, rifles and handguns didn't scare them but chopping down a shrub with a machete while looking at one slow walking by and nary a one was seen again.

Blame Katrina, but this was probably someone from
NBR looking for his dog that he let off the chain the night before.

Yes. Again, it’s terrible. I’m dreading the drive down government to downtown. Passing by Cypress Coast Brewery, Govt Taco, Anthony’s, Brew Bachers, Superior Grill, Spoke and Hub and their stupid renovation, Victoria’s Toy Station, Soji, Lemoines, Curbside, Calandros, Canatella Grocery, Mid City Beer Garden, Doe’s, Elsie’s, Radio Bar, Byronz, French Truck, Red Stick Social….oh and those dumps CHS, SJA, BR High, and OLOM Why do I live here???!?

Is the neighborhood around Baton Rouge Community College dangerous during day? I.e., car breakins, muggings, etc.

The hood to the East of BRCC, Ardenwood, has seen a revitalization and is pretty decent. The neighborhood to the south and sprawling westward is really nice but may be too expensive. Just
DO NOT look north of Florida Blvd and you should be relatively safe.

It's bad enough not to live there. If you're sending a student there, give them enough money for a car and a nice apartment on Essen or Bluebonnet or something.

Old Goodwood, Country Club, and Hundred Oaks are three of the nicest neighborhoods in BR and all pretty close to BRCC.

Capital Heights has much smaller and inexpensive homes compared to the three above and has cool culture all to its own. Kind of hippy but not in a bad way.

You can be right there uptown, get you a Top Boy Gorilla affiliation while you're at it.
