he told jurors that he was not home when the shooting happened and that there was no evidence proving he killed Harrington.
Did the other side present any evidence?

You can blame this one on the BRPD and their lack of evidence. They thought it was a slam dunk so they likely didn't go the distance to bring the prosecutor anything to recant the defendant's "I wasn't there" defense.
Ha. If you believe Hillar Moore is trying a murder case on anything less than what he would believe is a slam dunk, you’re dumber than what you present.

Arrest documents cited eyewitness accounts saying that Mack went into the apartment and demanded money for rent before repeatedly shooting Harrington.

Despite at least two witnesses linking Mack to the killing,
This is such a shite article

We don't have enough information here to judge the guy, but holy hell they kept him in jail since 2018 without a trial. No way should that be legal.
The average 2nd degree and 1st degree murder case for the 19th JDC in EBRP takes over five years to adjudicate from an arrest to potential trial. With an average bond of $250K, these people committing homicides don’t have $30K cash to get bailed out and sit in jail for years. It’s how our system works.

I’ve heard that accessory to murder in Alabama doesn't even get an arrest .

Inaccurate. He called himself to the stand as a witness, where he testified for almost an hour.

Well, they weren't eye witnesses. The "linked him" to the murders. One may have witnessed the argument days before and the other may have simply witnessed him trying to elude police.
Leave it up to the liberal to be totally fine with record number of murders of black people in democrat lead cities.
You are really something else.

He'll commit another murder. Why wouldn't he, knowing how easy it is to get away with it?
Posted on 3/5/23 at 1:07 pm to Joshjrn
Did he have assistant ask him questions?

I don't believe so. I believe he simply testified in the form of a narrative and then was subject to cross.

How does your reply make sense to the quote you were replying to?

Probably already killed someone, we had one get out pre trial in mobile and kill 3 more people. We had to pass new law on it

It’s got to be like when a national league pitcher gives up a home run to opposing pitcher

Only 4 days for a murder trial including deliberations?
Murder trials don’t have to take weeks like the high profile ones on TV. If there’s only a few witnesses and no experts then a couple days is all that’s needed.

I heard a statistic several years ago (probably 5-6) that the chances of a minority defendant getting convicted of murder by a jury in New Orleans was 5%.
I doubt it is much higher in BR.
The general distrust of cops, prosecutors and everyone involved in the criminal justice process is hard to overcome. I think that it is hard to get a conviction without a confession or at least video, dna etc.
That being said, the jury in SC just convicted Murtaugh without any of that so maybe not.

That's not working, that is dysfunctional.
