Metry Cafe is about to be redeveloped into a high end place. FYI
I remember somebody telling me about this recently but I can’t remember what. Please share.

This thread was pleasant until you got up in here. With your shite takes and generally displeasing demeanor all the time.

When is this picture of the Pink St. bar from. I think I know that older guy in the work shirt and jeans(dead center of the picture) but I thought he was dead. Maybe he is.

We definitely know each other. I lived at Winston's in 08...and several other years.

Harahan/River Ridge has some great dives like Rickshaw Lounge, Triangle West, and Riverside Tavern- almost perfect bars IMO. A dying breed too unfortunately.
Any other suggestions? I’m moving to RR soon and don’t really know the area well.

LOL.. That place is a total shithole.. A couple years ago a guy went in there to rob the place.. A customer pulls out a gun and starts shooting. I have only been in there about three times and that was enough. Even the owner's brother says it's a shithole.

That said, while it's not Old Metairie, nothing was better than a late night burger at the old Bottom Line on Division.
Swamp Room (on Vets)for the win on late night burgers.

Rickshaw is great old school hole in the wall place. Cute little blonde bartender named Bailey works there. Good cheap drinks.
A friend's brother-in-law owns Fox House on Jeff Hwy in the curve. I've been there a few times and it's ok.

Does anyone remember Mick's? It was off Metairie Rd before the tracks. Across the street from where the Burger King used to be. We hung out there every Thursday night in high school. It was packed with high schoolers
I remember Bandi's as well. Those sand volleyball courts were awesome.
Not Old Metairie, but is Fulco's still there? The place to be on St Paddy's day in Metairie. Over by some old school pool hall with a David Duke CD on the jukebox lol
I love old school neighborhood bars.
Still go to Homedale in Lakeview, Mick's in Mid City, etc.

Been living in the area for years now. My neighbors and I frequent my brother's bar bc close to the neighborhood and great drink specials and bartenders. Other bars:
the mill (cool bar but lots of smoking)
uncle matt's (great outdoor area)
the camp (great outdoor concert area)
rickshaw (old harahan dive bar)
the tavern on citrus (typical metry bar with good late
night food)
triangle west (river ridge dive)
white sands vball courts with seegers sandbar(great bar
for hanging out to drink and watch games, great music
too) playing a vball pickup game is fun too

I think the fox house closed, but i may be wrong. I hadn't been to the rickshaw in years, but good to hear it's still kickin.
