In the early days, he’d unload at small strips at night. South Louisiana is dotted with old AAF bases with 5000 x 100 foot concrete runways.
They’d store it onsite and then transship to Mena via light aircraft.
They didn’t start dropping into swamps until later, when the heat started.

Rumor was he landed a few times on 3127 between Lutcher and Paulina when it was still a dirt road. Couple old baws with deep roots and big parish connections would pick it up. But thats just rumors right?

Yep. That was Bob’s airstrip in a can field. A friend of mine’s older sister is married to him. They moved to Alaska for a few years when this all blew up.
And the post below your’s Buzzy got popped in Port Eads but it wasn’t Barry Seal’s gang. That was an Orleans Parish deal from what I was always told.
And frick Buzzy. I had a houseboat down there for 20 years.

It’s interesting how the Seal stories have greatly grown on this website since the movie was released

The movie wasn’t terribly accurate. Watch the old WBRZ investigative reports by Bob Courtney. They tell the real story.
