In the 80s, a plane crashed at Rockefeller Refuge in Grand Chenier, La. People had reported seeing the plane flying up and down the beach flying low. It apparently ran out of gas looking for a landing site when it crashed. They found a bunch of cocaine on the plane, and the area was sealed off while authorities unloaded it.
There have been many other instances of bundles of marijuana and cocaine washing up on the beaches of Cameron Parish over the years.
