Yea he was running his mouth and should have handed off the child as soon as it started but you do not have a duty to retread.
You have no clue how this started or what the three douche bags may have done t him and his family before the cameras caught it.
Besides by the look of that video they were not letting him get out of there without a beating anyway.

I'm sure he was regretting his lack of situational awareness and readiness to defend himself and his family. You're out numbered standing in the middle of a room running your mouth it's not going to end well for you, unless you're on a movie set and you're the hero.
