It's because cajuns take a lot of pride in their cooking and when they see something like crawfish dusting, tomatoes in gumbo, jambalaya "sauce", etc. being presented as "cajun", it touches a nerve. Especially when non-cajuns try food prepared in the manners listed above and are disappointed

Yeah you got us dude. We couldn’t possibly just find ULL annoying. Nor could it be good ole fashioned ribbing.
We, as LSU fans actually just secretly think we aren’t as good as UL Lafayette. Has to be that. We secretly wish could be a college most closely associated with Louisiana like yall. Or maybe we wish we could be competing for national titles like yall.
You’re arguing that we don’t “truly think we are better than you” because….we state that we are? Lol.
You are a directional school that pretends to be a big boy. We make fun of it. That’s it.

I don’t think that as a collective, but I think the losers that go out of their way to care about UL, are in fact losers

Hate to break it to you but there are Cajuns way more Cajun than you who do the 'soak in the cooler' method and that's common (lafayette area especially). And that has been one of the better tasting crawfish I have ever had. I was a doubter/hater before that but was pleasantly surprised.
My point is that Cajun cooking has regional differences and that's ok. There's no 'golden standard'.

I won't comment on the dusting, but no one in Baton Rouge knows how to boil crawfish. Thats the facts.
