Definitely expected the opposite. Indictment on work culture? Being free from daily stress filled routines could be the cure our society needs to curb habitual eating. Personally, I stopped stuffing my face at lunch time. You're given a window each day where you're expected to conform to the traditions and indulge, because hey, it's your only opportunity to do so until 5:00pm. Can't starve yourself. Without the work system guiding our sense of time hours blended and lunch time became a thing of the past.

They'll gain it back. Fast food employees tend to eat for free

I used to work through lunch at my last job, snacking on nuts and turkey and then take a nap in my truck from 2-3.

Contractor for a large company who prides itself on safety. Shocked I'm here, I wasn't expecting to return until Fall.

Everyone left their Reese’s eggs at the office.

frick you people. I haven’t missed a day of work (not complaining about that) but can’t stand all the people talking about their “COVID vacation” and all the chores they got done and time they spent working out.

I actually unintentionally asked a guy this morning how his summer was like it was the first day of school.

Agreed. When at home I eat heathy. Working in the office, all I want to do is eat out so I can get a break from it. At home, you just eat what you have.

My office is 80% men who own homes. Maybe yard work kept them trim.

Easier to work out when you don’t have to commute

I've lost 15 pounds since March. No commute or having to run a kid to and from school has freed up a lot of time for exercise.
And we have eaten out very little.

I think most people gained weight.

That's definitely opposite of what I'd expect.

Good to see though.

Our nations unhealthy lifestyle is a bigger national security risk than terrorists etc.

Working from home allows me to cook a healthy lunch each day instead of trying to figure out a prepared meal to bring, or worse, "I'll just pick something up today".

Same here. I don’t feel like I’m running around like a crazy person all day. I’m working more at home and my stress level has taken a nose dive.

Interesting. This contradicts a lot of threads that have been popping up lately. Some of the threads on the money board are saying how the future of all business, regardless of industry, is going to be remote WFH (work from home).

Might be more of a case of:

1) Less eating out with co-workers/clients

2) Easier access to better home-cooked food / leftovers at home.

To bring a good nutritious lunch to work, usually requires some prep time and planning, which is hard for busy people. At home, you just walk into your kitchen, take salad stuff out of fridge, put in bowl, eat. No looking for tupperware, etc.
