My favorite show of all time. Pure greatness. There was nothing better on TV than when Aunt Esther walked into the room with Fred. Nobody batted an eye at this type of comedy back then. Think about that for a second. PC has taken us down a path of no return. I fear for our future.

Do you think Blazing Saddles or History of the World could be aired today?

Sadly, no.

That's kind of the point of the thread.

Even Class Act (1991) wouldn't fly today. At the end Duncan's dad caught him with Damida and was happy because Duncan wasn't gay.

I’m not even sure half of the Married With Children episodes would fly today

That was before social media and all the whiny arses. People would laugh at each other and even themselves. It was a more relaxed time. If it would play the Gravy Train Helmet Heads would have an opportunity to make an issue.

You do get the joke of blazing saddles right?

Django was only a few years ago, not sure why blazing saddles couldn’t be made today

I wasn’t around back then, but my parents have said before that shows like All in the Family were controversial even back then.

It stayed on the air, but don’t think everyone was just so un-PC back then that everyone just laughed and loved these shows. It was controversial.

I don't think 'gorilla cookies' would get a pass either.

I give random names to all the playlists I have on my digital music player and the one I made of 70s funk and old R&B music I named "Gorilla Cookies". Couple of years ago I made a point to go in and rename it "Cookies" because I know there will eventually be a situation where that terminology will be embarrassing, maybe even more than just embarrassing, even with the S&Ss reference and the fact that it's just a joke.

PC oppression wins again.

All in the Family used the N word in an episode as well.

Nope. Blacks called each other the N word then, and still do today.

History of the World was just boring af. It's one of the few movies I've walked out on.

Pretty sure that episode was pulled after the original airing as well

Negative. I remember seeing it several times in syndication.

Red was a comedic genius. Excellent timing.

His standup routine was more obscene than Richard Pryor. It was insane.

Remember how much happier everybody was back in the 50s when the n word was still for everyone?
