There was this heavy metal type kid in my chemistry class in high school that would walk in everyday whistling the Sanford & Son theme song. He was the best.

The thing with that is that if you want to get away with laughing about problems you kind of need to also be working on changing the problems too. If you are making the same jokes about society for 50 years, it’s going to get real stale for the people that are dealing with the reality of the issue

Liberals have ruined comedy beyond repair. Grown white liberal males would literally tremble and cry tears after watching that.

Who said they were problems? Most were stereotypes

Are you saying issues of racism haven't improved for African Americans since 1974? Because that is exactly what the comment above is insinuating.

How old are you?
I am guessing more like 40 years ago or more.

Not really
People are probably more racist now but hide it better.

I wonder what redd foxx and richard pryor would think if they were alive today?
They probably wouldn't be allowed onstage now.

Could you imagine the tears Archie Bunker would cause?

Sanford & Son 1974 Could this be aired on TV today and get laughs?
Yes, but it would have to be a black person doing the writing and/or comedy and it would not be a show on network television. Even then you would find it being used more in dramas than comedies.
The closest you'll get on network television today is Cedric' the Entertainer's "The Neighborhood" (which is very tame by comparison).

Watched a rerun of WKRP the other day and Venus Flytrap was trying to mentor some gang member and the kid called him the n word. I was thinking man the PC police missed that one.
On another note I watched High Plains Drifter again on TV the other night and was surprised that they haven’t edited out the scene 7 minutes in when the drifter snatched up the sassy woman and pulled her into a barn and raped her and then went to get a shave at the barbershop. Surprised they haven’t banned that one yet.

BS..it's just social media.."opinions are like assholes, everyone has one" and social media allows the world to see it.
