I think it was more of a thing in the 80’s, all the girls had their ears pierced as babies / toddlers

I would wait until my kid was older & it surely wouldn’t have diamond studs

I have two daughters. One had her daughters' ears pierced, the other did not. I can honestly say there was no difference made either way. There's a lot more important things to worry about than pierced ears.

Incredibly trashy

Most of those girls that dance in those gaudy dance troops had their ears pierced before they were 3 months old

As long as it's a girl, I have no problem. A boy, well hell no.

Yes.

The saddest thing about this is that it's even a question.

piercing a kid's ears before they are old enough to ask for it seems like abuse.

For some reason, I remember for my cousins it wasn't allowed until 1st Communion. Dunno the connection there. For my sister it wasn't until she was in junior high.

But yes, for kids kindergarten or younger, it's pretty trashy imo.

I see it mainly in Hispanic babies.

Good Lord young people are just a bunch of candy asses. It's just ear rings. If the child doesn't like them once older, they don't have to wear them and the hole will close up.

I let my daughters decide for themselves once they turned 12. One did it and one did not.

Some babies are so ugl....er...blessed that they need the earrings so the casual observer at the Walmart knows that it is a girl.
