That staticbrain link used as a reference doesn't exist, and the entire site consists only of a few pro gold videos. Figured it was bull shite in listing philosophy majors as having higher IQs than engineers and computer science majors.
I think Philosophy majors typically have one of the highest MCAT and LSAT scores.

Could probably use that graph for NFL 1st rounders, highest number in dark blue and lowest in red.

I would like to see some source.
It's from a guy on dataisbeautiful reddit

To make this visualization, I used an ETS-curated data set of average student IQs by college major and an NCES data table of Bachelor's degrees conferred by major and gender. I wrangled the data in Python/pandas, and plotted it in matplotlib.
Beyond the technical details: I ask that readers please look and read beyond the first visualization in this article. The point here is not to leave people walking away thinking "hurr hurr women are dumb!" (as the first graph may lead the reader to mistakenly think), but rather to point out that SAT scores (and therefore IQ estimates) are likely a flawed measure of intelligence that don't capture everything it takes to have a successful career; rather, they measure how likely a student is going to pursue a quantitative major.

I figured a decent number of pre-law students took it. Didn't realize that a significant number of pre-med students took it.

The site definitely exists, are you a social worker?

Surprised North Dakota managed that high of a score with all the oilfield trash up there.
There are plenty of intellectual jobs in the oil field as well. And at worst the blue collar jobs require a skill. A good fitter or electrician probably has a marginally higher IQ than your minimum wage employees. If anything the oil field trash might raise the overall IQ. You probably have a skewed view of the average intelligence of people because you went to college. The "average" person to you would seem very dumb. Educated people are insulated from the very low IQ people to a large extent, ironically making us ignorant of just how dumb the average or below average person is.

I pray that people aren't dumber than I think they are.

Fun fact, I'm actually from New Hampshire.

My logic is sound. They're certainly dumber than you think. If you met someone that is dead center of the bell curve you would probably not think they're that bright. Then you have to remember 50% of the population is not as smart as they are.

I'm around educated people every day, their stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

So you're telling us that the average IQ is approximately 100? And that women are more likely to go into social sciences?
Wow these are some shocking statistics

I said the site exists and described its contents. The link listed in the chart
"staticbrain.com/iq-estimates-by-intended-college-major" does not exist.

Being from VA, every single time one of these maps comes out I want to see the results without the DC metro area, because that always pulls the rest of the state in a positive direction no matter what the issue is.

That's sad. Take ownership. Say you were typing fast and not thinking
But don't blame it on autocorrect when it's really hard to get full proof from foolproof

Damn... oh well, so much for poking fun at Arkansas and WV -- their average IQ is higher than LA

Of course that site doesn't exist, because that isn't what was cited in the graph. The webpage is "statisticbrain" not "staticbrain"
