This is not going to end well.

Basic economic and incentive theory down the tubes.

“Australians Will Get $300 If They Get Tested For COVID-19, Another $1500 If They Test Positive.”

Rock solid plan, I mean what could possibly go wrong?

We are about to get some hard verification that not only can you get it twice, but at least 5 or 6 times.

Meanwhile in Louisiana, our residents line up down the block for a Burger King gift certificate.

Article from July. Melbourne has had zero cases or deaths from COVID-19 in the last 30 days. Obviously they did something right.

The title makes it sound like an incentive

first paragraph shows was a subsidiary if you didn’t get sick pay to ensure you don’t go to work while positive.

Their GDP only shrank 7% in Q2 and they aren’t far off normality now outside of international travel so let’s not act like they’ve screwed the pooch here.

You left out an important part:

However, they will only get paid if they are employed and do not have sick leaves to fall on back on.

Yea- seems a good alternative to any symptom getting you booted from work unpaid for weeks or requiring doctor visits to return.

How many $10 an hour employees living pay check to pay check do you think actually volunteer symptoms or contacts for that punishment?

I took one just the other day (before I visited my mother) and it was no big deal.
The swab only went a little ways up your nose and was barely noticeable.
