Throwing someone in jail for 45 years for what she did is an absolute absurdity.

45 years is absolute horse shite.

Oh no, rich people paid to get what they wanted! What a new and shocking thing for the world to experience! Throw this hot woman in jail for the rest of her life!

Agreed. Talk about overkill. We have people doing less time for murder in some cases.

Anything beyond a civil penalty for this "crime" is an abuse of the justice system. There are literally no actual victims in this case.

is it that tough to get in on your own merit?

Id imagine you need to be in top 10% GPA of your class plus top 10th percentile SAT

It’s white collar crime. There are victims. But it’s not worth more than 1-2 years in the slammer. Besides, her reputation is ruined anyway.

Damn. I didn't realize she was potentially facing that kind of time.

She turned down a plea bargain.

Now they gone make an example of her.

I realize that's a worst case scenario number, but doing 1 day inside a prison is too much for this "crime"

Can we name one actual victim of this crime?

I guess the victim would be a kid that didn't get in over hers due to the payments. It would be hard to figure out who that was though.
