My opening offer is typically half of the listed price. You’re selling your shite on Facebook so obviously you need the cash. Deal with the lowballs or get a better job, your choice.
Where else am I going to sell a shitty pond boat or an old lawnmower that may or may not work?
"One man's trash is another man's treasure."
I just had someone come pick up 2 questionable old, saws (an old radial and table) that may or may not work that I threw up on FB for free. Saved me the trouble of hauling those damn things to the dump.
Offering half the list price screams "I have a shitty job and can't afford anymore".

No.
That is the free market.

At least you did not cause LucasP to be banned.

How about when you offer a standard 4 bedroom house in a sub-standard area for $4550 per month rent?
"Don't try to lowball me. I know what I have."

Y’all act like I didn’t do any competition research and just set the price based on the moons alignment lol
Doesn’t matter, even if a item is priced at what it is probably worth in the market, I am looking for a deal and will initially offer around 50% of asking price. More than half the time I get at least 25% knocked of.
Just bought a high end gas cooktop for my outdoor kitchen, they were asking $900, I offered $500, they took $600.

What's worse is the people that think their crap is worth retail.
I am currently in the market for a riding mower. I am an OT fatty getting tired pushing a mower around.
I went Lowes and Home Depot today, not a single one under 2k in stock. I know earlier in the year I was thinking of pussing out and going ‘lectrict for a clearance last year’s model, but now prices have gone up over 200 or 300 dollars in just 3 months for regular mowers. Actually, my local Home Depot still has some of those electric models still available we discussed about. I looked at the clearance tag today and it was printed in March. Some of them are starting to show signs of wear and them being outside for the last year do not give me much confidence on longevity especially talking about lithium batteries.
On Facebook some people are pushing 5-10 year old models for 1,000, and even more for a zero turn with the same age.
How much would you pay for something that old?

Somebody low balling on your Mom? You should know her street value?

That is not true Mrs Mandingo puts random arse shite on it all the time, if it dosent sell she brings it to goodwill or gives it away to a coworker who "donates" it to her church. I told her if we go to the coworkers house we would see our old shite.
I know she bought a stroller still in the box for a baby shower it was $50 cheaper then retail she said the woman dropped it off in a brand new escalade.
