Hell, I saw a mocking bird own a red tailed hawk a couple weeks ago. Mocking bird pestered the shite out of the hawk until he dropped his lunch and just went to a perch and stared at it. I never did see if he went and picked it back up.
Mocking birds are some ballsy fricks.

Mocking birds are so aggressive. I don't like them because they get all territorial and scare all the other birds away.

When that hawk first shows up it is usually the crows across the road that spot it first. Then, all hell breaks loose.
There are several redtails that nest in the trees behind the houses across the street from us. They fly past our house to hunt along the creekbed that divides our neighborhood from the one down the road. Every morning you hear the hawks screeching as they set out, and you also start hearing the chickadees and other birds starting to freak out.

Mockingbirds are evil vile creatures that should all be put in bird prison or eradicated. Fack them and their non-movinf asses when they can't get laid. Chirping louder ain't gonna get you another girlfriend when all the ones in a one mile radius are taken. Fly the F away from my house.

My wife asked me if I missed anything about Atlanta. All I could come up with is the amount of nice wooded trails I could hit without driving at all. We were less than a half mile from Emory’s campus but I would see turkey, deer, obviously hawks and tons of owls, all manner of snakes, water fowl etc all the time. I had a full marathon running route that was 3/4 off road trail.

Got several Mississippi Kites that fly over our neighborhood every day. Red-tailed hawks are more rare as I only see one per area occasionally. Sometimes lots of buzzards/black vultures circling overhead with their massive wings. Don't know how you guys stand to walk/run trails with snakes everywhere. I don't like snakes and kill most every one that I come in contact with other than garters. Ditto on the mocking birds being territorial!

Well, once you realize that most snakes you see are as harmless as bunny rabbit, then you can tolerate it. And you basically have to make contact with a venomous snake for it bite you, so just be careful and aware of your surroundings.

Waiting in line with some kids at the PortaPottie tailgating at LSU, when a hawk takes a squirrel. He brings it right on a branch of a tree above the toilet and proceeds to eat it alive while the squirrel is basically screaming. Lot of crying kids that day

Is that Hawk Deandre the Hunter?

I have red tails, Cooper’s, great horned owls, sharpshin hawks and an occasional kestrel in the neighborhood.
Ive seen some cool stuff, but the craziest was in the golf course when all of us saw a redtail come out of nowhere and smoke a roadrunner on a teebox.
Bird on bird crime is real.

For the first time in a while I've had a pair of American Kestrels hanging around my place some. I don't think they nested near me, but they definitely hunted here in the early Spring.
I saw one dive twice at something in the yard. I couldn't tell what it was from the porch. I went down to check it out and it had hit a frog. I don't know why it didn't take the frog, maybe it was too big or the bird got spooked by something. American Kestrels are one of my favorite birds.
Not my pics.

There are a pair of Kestrels in our neighborhood. I love watching them circle the neighborhood right before dark.

That hawk is obviously racist and needs to be canceled.

I've taken to watching a pair if Nighthawks every evening lately. They have a couple of young with them now, too. If you've never heard them, you're missing out. When they dive their wings make the weirdest sound. They're lazy birds. They sleep all day on a fence post and hunt only near dawn and dusk. Old folks called them "Bull Bats" for some reason.

Hawks are the NFTs of trailer parks.

That’s awesome, I tried to explain this to some friends & family and they thought I was full of shite. We have a pair of Red-tails that have nested in a large stand of Mo. Oaks couple hundred yards from our front door. Their young have now fledged and in the mornings the whole clan sets off on hunting lessons 101 & screeching to one another like something out of a movie. Scares the tree rats shitless and they should be they’re death from above.

I don't know why, but the stupidity of this "joke" makes me irrationally angry.
