"Being that the new law [La. R.S. 32:57(J) and 268] will rely on cameras that will time how fast it takes a vehicle to get from one end of the basin to the other, motorists who cross the bridge in less than 18 minutes will receive a speeding ticket in the mail."

So will this work like the other ones in BR that are mailed to you by some out of state company? This damn "bridge" already has major issues with traffic, which will only be made worse by people going 50mph to try and avoid a ticket. What a shite-show.

Just another tax disguised as public safety. Does nothing to address the actual issues with that bridge, but it's easy.

Much i n the same way more gun laws won't fix this country's gun problems, but it's the easy thing to do.

The autobahn has no speed limit yet is one of the safest roads in Germany, because they vigorously enforce the left lane for passing laws.

Of course, this bill did nothing to emphasize that.

That was the issue with the BR tickets. A person should have a right to face their accuser. How can a camera ever accomplish that?

These cameras will be removed within a year due to the legal challenges. This will go about as well as the red light camera speeding tickets.

Probably and they'll end up in the same place, filling up a landfill.

That's why I was asking about who the tickets come from. The BR tickets were from some law firm trying to bully you into paying, but couldn't enforce shite.

they need to enforce the no trucks in left lane rule and mail a ticket to any vehicle larger than a tacoma that gets out of the right lane except to give room to vehicles on the shoulder

Paying a toll that everyone is required to pay to use a roadway is nothing like receiving a traffic violation via mail.

Just like jury duty, they can not prove that you received it in the mail. We all know how reliable the USPS is.
