BMI is BS. I have a stocky build but I'm definitely not fat. I inherited my dad's rugby-style frame but going off BMI only, I'm considered overweight. My waist size is 32".

Yes BMI is BS, it doesn't take body type into consideration, much less muscle mass. I used to have 28" inch waist was considered overweight according to BMI.

With that said at 53 I'm fat now.

Depends on height. 5'4" 36" waist = fatty.

I'm 6'2" and wear a 33" or 34" waist. If I got to 36" waist I still would not be a fatty.

6'1" wearing 32" length? You must have short legs and a long torso. I'm 6' and struggle with 34" length. Most end up looking like high waters.
maybe so, I figured I was pretty proportionate.... although I do wear my pants to sit more at the top of my kicks opposed to the sloppy look of walking on them...

My sock game is skrong tho

You wear your pants the correct way. I'm 6'1 and wear a 32 length also in most suit pants and even some jeans.

I guess I'm 'little' although my BMI is perfect and I'd bet I'm above the Median in Height and above the median in weight for healthy individuals.... but keep telling yourself that your dad bod and having a 36' waist @ under 6'5" isn't a fatty.

I'd bet the barn y'all are at >25% body fat

SuperSaint has killed this thread

ETA: if you're over 20% BF, you're chubby or skinny fat. You may carry it well, but you know it's there. If you're over 25% BF, you're fat. Sorry. Thems the breaks

That's just dumb. Don't talk about what you don't know. Stick to crack and jail topics.

I am 6'2 215 lbs and wear a 36 that is slightly baggy in me. I have worked out my whole life... I have posted pics of myself on here in the past. No chance I could be mistaken for fat.

I'll say anything 40+ is definitely overweight... but a 6'2 215 pound person who is in shape is not fat

6' over 40yo: if my 32s start getting tight, then i'm entering fattyland. right now 32s are loose, but I can't go smaller lest i look like a tubesteak hipster in the legs. nonballer can't afford customer tailor.

Need to go off bmi.

BMI doesn't account for muscle mass. I'm 5'10, and while I am definitely fat right now, if I were under 10% body fat I would still weigh over 200. My wife worked at a weight loss clinic for awhile. The head MD told me that based on my frame and how long I had been that size, I wouldn't be able to get under 225 without a serious illness.

Which "waist" are we talking about? The classic waist is around the navel. But I, and many millenials, wear my pants below my stomach, basically across our hips. Pants these days aren't made with anywhere near deep enough crotches to wear around the "classic" waist.

I want to brag on myself for a second, in the last 2 months I've lost 43 lbs, and plan to keep on losing. Started at 310, but I am currently sitting at 267. Hoping to be at 240 by July 19th as an anniversary gift to my wife. Would be the lowest I've weighed in over a decade.

I am 34 and I look like a Greek God. Weigh 195 now.

I was a 36 not long ago. Weighed 215 then.

That's awesome keep up the hard
work. Bmi isn't perfect, but i would consider it more accurate judgement of fat then pant size. Body fat % is the really the best way.
