Only when I am upgrading. Replacing a dishwasher is a pain. I've put two in this house in the 13 years I've been here. But renovating an old bathroom and making it a half bath/laundry room and getting a new set to go in there was nice. The fridge was slowly dying a couple of years ago. It was an old side by side that was here when we moved in. The freezer side was very skinny and not very useful. I bought a nice Maytag with the freezer on the bottom with one big door up top to replace it. Went up in size, it is more functional space, and no ice and water in the door to break. Skipped the whole French Door craze and we love it. I was 37 when I bought that, and 33 when I bought the washer and dryer.

I bought my own home at 28. I paid the down payment with my own money and pay my mortgage. No help from anyone.

I don't know when it starts, but I'll tell you when it stops - the moment your touchscreen refrigerator needs a repair.

. I am shopping for a fridge for the new house and thought to myself. What the frick does someone need a screen on their refrigerator. Hell, I don't even want a water dispenser.

Very understandable. But then again, why does a fridge need a touchscreen?

Every home appliance I've purchased in the past 10 years has been plastic junk. I think I'm going to start buying old appliances from the 80s and 90s at garage sales

We bought a cheap arse old Sears washing machine and whirlpool dryer last year when we moved in our house. The damn washer had to be made in the 80’s. It’s small as hell. But solid as a rock and still worked ok.

We finally decided to get a new set a few weeks ago when the dryer started sounding like an old squeaky, raggedy arse Army trailer bouncing up and down a dirt road while it was running.

I had an anniversary at work recently and got to pick a gift out of our on-line gift shop.

Got some non stick pots/pans.

Then felt old due to my choice

There's the third phase after that where you're more excited that things haven't needed to be replaced. I think I hit that phase at around 35.

I get pissed when my shite breaks and I have to buy new shittier shite. I don't get excited and doubt I ever will. I could give two shits what the device that spins my lawnmower blade looks like.
