When my sinuses got so big that it was causing my vision to become crossed and I had no depth perception.

How long did you let it try and resolve itself?

Go and get the NeilMed sinus flush kit at cvs/walgreens. Flush that crap out, and you will start to feel better.

This didn't work for me the last time I had a sinus infection because my sinus passages were so swollen that the water couldn't get through. I finally bit the bullet and got a steroid shot as a last resort. Started to feel better within 48 hours because the inflammation went down and the my sinuses were finally able to drain. Sinus infections are pure misery!

Quickly. They can give you the 'sinus cocktail' injection and a z-pac. It will give you the sniffles for a couple days instead of flu-like crap that lasts a week or two. The faster they diagnose and treat it it the quicker you get well. If you wait a week the doc will likely tell you to just wait it out at that point.

My whole family is just getting over this. I'm good to get it usually twice a year and nothing has ever helped, so I don't even try anymore. Not the z pack. Not a steriod shot. And certainly not those little beads in the medicine bottle. The worst of it lasts just 2-3 days, but the irritating af cough and drainage lasts 3 weeks.

Grandmother's Remedy: Brown Whiskey for sleep and blow to open up. Maybe a little xanax for landing gear. You will feel better in the AM. Can repeat the next day to be sure that you are cleared up.

Go get tested for allergies
I did allergy shots for about three years and it’s worked wonders for me
I don’t hardly ever have sinus issues anymore and if I do I take nose spray and a mucinex and it generally clears it up without having to go to doctor

That’s what urgent care is for. Tell them you want a shot and some meds

Yeah, I don't GAF about dvs.

My GP is pretty smart, and I've been around some doctors that aren't too bright.

Discernment is a useful tool that we don't appreciate until we're older.

When the snot turns green. That’s when you have a sinus infection and need antibiotics.

Until then, neti pot, Claritin d, and nasocort/flonase as needed. YW.

I did this and it led to sinus surgery. Now I’m a daily Claritin user. Helps me tremendously

Don't wait too long like I did. I had puss coming out of my cheeks. It was bad.

I have deep sinus cavities and get them about once a year that requires antibiotics and a steroid shot. Usually goes away fast.

I had a cold a few months ago that turned into a sinus infection. I thought little cold would go away but turned into a lot of green, smelly mucus when blowing my nose. I felt crap, physically drained, no fever, was taking 1200 mg Mucinex and all other types of sinus meds, never could clear it so went to doctor at day 8. She said if by day 5 you can’t clear a cold/sinus infection then you need antibiotics. Sure enough that is what got me well.
