I guess living with the rents is the way out of college.

I’m 82 and still living at home.
My parents are threatening to cancel the Cable TV subscription but I think they’re bluffing.

Sadly, 22. I lived with parents during school and worked full time. Had a fat savings account that allowed me to buy my first home right after graduating though which was great. Wife was very similar. At almost 30 were halfway through our second home mortgage (we both sold our first houses and combined) while our friends are still renting with no equity to their name.

You signed a lease at 17. Wow.
I never had a lease the first few places I rented

Stopped paying a mortgage at 29. Down to only property taxes and insurance for the rest of my life. Not quite 40, but really close.
Peach of a house I’d bet.

Never move out. Rent is for suckers, and “owning” property is a lie.

17 & the summer before my Sr year. My parents sold my childhood home & I didn't want to switch from Central to Woodlawn my Sr year. Worked at Bank One downtown M-F 12-5. My 21 yr old cousin was my roommate & we split everything 50/50. It was a helluva struggle but I pulled that shite off somehow.

18 but it was 1986 so it was pretty much expected that after high school you go to college or to work. Either way you move out.

I have carried my own health insurance since I was 16 years old. I joined the Army at 18 and never went back home. Paid my way to college after the Army by working, not taking out student loans and here I am at 52 and I own my own business. It was a long road and I wouldn't ever treat a kid the way I grew up. My dad was a complete piece of shite.
