Italy is basically 11 days ahead of us dealing with this. At day 15, March 8th, for Italy they were at 7,375. That would be today for us. As of right now we have 13,159. Almost double. May very well be double by the end of the day.

the usual threads about the fundamental misunderstanding about the order of operations have been replaced with threads about the fundamental misunderstanding about totals vs. per capita statistics

Not only do we need a coronavirus board, we need two of them.

One, for discussion about the latest updates and potential medical, sociological and economic impacts of various scenarios.

And a second where the people that obviously just want to be scared shitless can clutter it up to their heart's content with forecasts of a 100% contagious rate with 30% mortality along with the latest rumors of which branch of the military will be taking the lead in barricading us all in our homes with shoot on sight orders for anybody that dares to walk their dog.

We've already almost doubled Italy's positive test if you go by the same time line. Italy is basically 11 days ahead of us dealing with this. At day 15, March 8th, for Italy they were at 7,375. There is no standard for testing. The availability for testing and methodology is all over the place. Thus, comparing these stats, other than maybe deaths, is meaningless.

Virus deaths: Italy to USA
Day 3: 7 to 9
Day 6: 17 to 15
Day 9: 41 to 26
Day 12: 107 to 41
Day 15: 233 to 68
Day 18: 631 to 150

We are not tracking Italy.

May surpass China but definitely will pass Italy? Italy has already passed China. (Officially at least.

In deaths, but not number of confirmed cases. However, why do people place any stock in these numbers? They aren't uniform in how they are collected. There are no common standards being followed. It is severely flawed data.
