It’s also far more important than trying to dump money into stopping climate change which is impossible to stop.

There has to be a tax increase we can pay to avoid nature.

In one of the videos of the Chelyabinsk meteor you can hear a man shouting, "The Americans are attacking us!"

ETA: "Amerikantsy napadayut na nas!"

It is not rare for an asteroid to come near Earth, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine told the International Academy of Astronauts' Planetary Defense Conference in April.

"I wish I could tell you these events are exceptionally unique," he said. "But they are not."
So not a big deal. Apparently they eloped in our atmosphere frequently and go unnoticed for months.

Just passing through on it’s way to a planet that’s much worse off than we are. It’s not our turn yet.

I was wondering what the size of this would be if it had impacted the earth.

Astronomers only started watching the asteroid a few days ago. The Brazilian SONEAR survey tracked down the space rock on Wednesday, and the ASAS-SN telescope network detected it shortly after – just hours before it came whizzing by Earth.

Hmmm I guess that size * 54k mph = destruction.

Aren't there a lot that can't see?
