The strike zone in your example would be about 5.5 miles across. It's still pretty far, but get the proportions right.

45k from earth is a lot closer than 190k miles from the moon Granted I have no clue how close it travelled near the moon, but let's pretend it came exactly between us and the moon for this discussion and simple math.

Estimates vary on Tuguska, but it was between half and twice this size.
