I think this video supports the theory that he was not a Republican, despite his official party registration.

It has been discussed, ad nauseum, why he was a registered Republican...and it's NOT because he was a Republican.

Using an AR with iron sights for this shot likely shows the kid either couldn't buy the right weapon or was ignorant and only knew of ARs from the media portrayal of them as the worst weapon on earth.

Although, I will say, it is impressive as hell to nearly get a headshot 150 yards away using iron sights. I don't care how good of a shooter you may think you are, with adrenaline dumping, having just been confronted by a cop, and knowing you're about to possibly set the country on fire and get shot in the head by a counter-sniper, that's a difficult shot that he would've made had Trump not turned at just the right second.

From supposed deranged shooter in that video: "Slash his throat. Every fricking republican. Suck my fricking balls."

But 4-5 posters in this thread claim this event wasn't politically motivated

Like I said in the other thread, it’s one thing for an officer to not confront him but it’s another to not immediately make the radio call there’s a shooter. Given this is like a school shooter and officers should be full attack with any signs of anything.

Exactly. If true, this officer directly contributed to to the loss of an innocent life.

Kudos to the parents that let their 20 Year Old son to be this in tune with politics.

At 20, my priorities were mostly women and being a fan of college sports and enjoying making new friends on a college campus. Stupid me.

About Crooks:

—Grew up in good neighborhood
—Went to highly ranked high school
—Awarded price for math and science

—Working as a dietary aide in nursing home.

What part of that doesn’t fit?

No matter what all the range warriors will say, hitting a pumpkin sized target at 150 yds with iron sights from an unsupported rest is not easy.

Unfortunately I actually just had to fire a kid for kind of the same reason. At no point had he ever encountered the least bit of hardship or had anyone explained to him that he was doing something wrong.

Adversity breeds determination, unfortunately a lot of parents have forgotten this.

My fault. The bolt gun comment was hyperbole not fact and Marines in general are defensive little bitches about our shooting abilities and competition shooters are arrogant about the topic to boot. I apologize.

I don’t think anyone talking about the difficulty of shot are speaking of using iron sights. Because not a single hunter or person with brain still uses iron sights

Dude, laying on a metal roof in July isn't easy. All of the other things combined just kind of make it....wierd.

I know this will sound juvenile, but this guy fits the Portland sky screamer stereotype. He’s objectively hideous and deeply radicalized. I don’t think a woman other than his mother has ever looked his direction.

Crooks was a loner virgin living in his parents' basement, no doubt

He’s likely one of those book smart kids who has zero social skills and flops around through life, severely underperforming expectations.

I'll give you a 10 inch pan. I'll give you a sub MOA rifle. MOA is I put that pan at 500 yards and you don't miss.

Not you go 3 for 5. Zero misses. As a guy who has his own range on his property, no sane person says that's easy to be consistent at that distance.
