There’s no such thing as a soulmate except in Hallmark movies. You both just recognized a mutual need the other had and you misunderstood the emotions that go along with that. My guess is you started to worry you’d always be single and so did she. So, when you both found another person that you were attracted to, got on well with, was reciprocally interested and open to a serious relationship, you didn’t want to let this one get away because you were afraid this might be your last chance.
That was the mutual need you both had and each other met. So sorry, you aren’t soulmates. It’s actually science.
