Now, deadly hornets from Asia that measure up to 2 inches long have been found for the first time in the US — and researchers are worried they’re colonizing.
The aggressive insects, nicknamed “murder hornets,” can wipe out bee colonies within hours and have stingers long and powerful enough to puncture beekeeping suits.
Beekeepers in Washington have already seen the hornets devastate their hives; Japan attributes 50 human deaths a year to the nasty buzzers, which have “teardrop eyes like Spider-Man, orange and black stripes that extend down its body like a tiger, and broad, wispy wings like a small dragonfly,” according to the New York Times.

I remember as a kid back in the late 70s being told repeatedly that Africanized Killer Bees were going to destroy the US. Im still waiting.

When I lived in Japan they had these fricking Mukade centipede things that stung like a MFer. I had one on my bath towel once and it took about three days before it stopped throbbing. Damn things were Errywhere.

If I see one of those things I’ll scream like a little girl and sprint away flailing my arms like mad person.

Seriously, those things need to be eradicated quickly. They can surely wipe out entire hives fast. If we had Japanese honey bees here, it wouldn't be as much of a problem for bees. The European honey bees won't stand a chance.
