Not true, he rented a mobile bartending company for an event a few months ago while everyone else's bars were closed

Man, I haven't been there in ages. I used to frequent that place a long time ago.

Nah... I think in March/April we had close to 2k statewide. In the “second wave” we got to around 1,200-1,500 maybe? Today I think we have around 675 statewide

Well he comes by it honestly. His family was one of the largest slave owners during the civil war era.

Nah I’m going to blame our useless, piece of shite politicians and media using fear to oppress us.

I remember the old days when the media questioned everything the government did, regardless of who was running it, instead of essentially being a PR agent for the Democratic Party.

Bayou Bar. If you aren’t a regular prepare to get some stares. But they’ll probably be open anyway. They DGAF.

Are they going to be paying people’s bills with all these closures? The unemployment trust fund is broke and pandemic unemployment is only $222 a week and runs out in December.

Icehouse last Saturday night was packed and definitely produced at least a handful of new COVID cases.

I will leave it to the sharp minds of the OT to figure out what these two census tracts have in common other than having the highest COVID case counts in their respective parishes.

Well... A few things.

#1 bars in iberville parish never closed. They just locked their doors and you had to knock to get in.

#2 I don't need to look at your numbers to see that there are a ton of black people in those two areas. But... Maringouin on the far north end of iberville, and white castle on the far south end, are both heavily black without the bump.

#3 Age is what you should watch. Age is the biggest predictor over whether someone gets tested.

Iberville's numbers, if anything, are a good case study for what would happen if people continued about their daily lives and were only mildly diligent about avoiding high risk behaviors. Some get it. Some don't. Life goes on.

Right. The govt should be forced to pay wages and provide income for establishments that are affected. That would make them less liberal with these closures.

I'm curious where you got your information.

Given I can only find two slave sales on his mother's line for the three parishes.

I dislike the fellow as much as anyone. And more than most. But I don't believe in making libelous statements.

Are you under the impression that gov't pays out of its own pocket and not yours?

That's adorable.

Per the 1860 census. Hell, surprisingly it’s right on JEB’s Wikipedia page under “ Early life and career”

Wiki Link

Slave Schedules shows that Edwards’ great-great-great grandfather Daniel Edwards, a resident of St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, owned 57 slaves. That same census showed that Daniel Edwards’ son, Gov. Edwards’ great-great grandfather Nicholas Stone Edwards, a resident of nearby Ward 1 in Washington Parish, Louisiana, owned 33 slaves.
