end of the day less than 1% of Americans in all likelihood will test positive

It KS pretty well accepted that without an effective vaccine, about half the population will get this over the next couple of years.

You wanna see chaos? Open everything up right now with a fricking virus that can mask itself in one person and jump to every person they come into contact with without ever showing the slightest symptoms.

Incorrect! If you want to see the result of that policy simply look at S Korea. The virus CAN spread as you say, but it generally does not. It is mostly spread by symptomatic people through coughing and sneezing. We will soon (weeks) move to a policy of moderate social distancing (almost everyone back at work) and case tracking with quarantine.

A 20ga shotgun load to the face at 10 steps is fatal 100% of the time. You couldn't have an open casket funeral. Your head would explode like a watermelon.

I still am struggling why something that has a perceived 1% mortality rate that at most infects 1% of people means we need to stop all sense of normalcy.

I would agree with you 100% if this was true. It is not. On the low end the estimate is 25% of Americans will be infected.

Jesus, man.

Your points, on page 1 alone, were brutal.

South Korea went full lockdown with masks

No they didn’t. Tons of misinformation about this virus. S Korea allowed children at school if parents had no choice. 5% of kindergarten students went to school. Work at home was strongly encouraged, and even subsidized, but was NOT mandatory.

I think the low end (20-25%) is more likely than high end for a worst case here. So many suburbs and towns in this country with low population densities and low social interaction to begin with. Louisiana would be toward the higher end base case with all of the festivals and tailgating, etc...

I will take a perma ban bet if you believe that 25% of Americans ultimately test positive this calendar year. That number won’t be close.
