Hindsight... I would have lured him off the concrete, swept the legt, and kept him down w a knee on the back until authorities arrived if he was damaging property.

That kid was 12 or 13 y/o. I'd get a nephew or close friends kid of 14 or 15 y/o and a little bigger to kick his arse in front of his friends. Although that man lasted longer than most, no way he would ever come out ahead in today's society. Sad but just the way it is.

I would have just removed myself from the situation entirely.
But that dude taught him a different lesson I have no issues with, I just would not have done it to avoid the backlash.

Another thing I'd add, while I certainly don't feel one bit sorry for that kid in the moment in that scenario, I'd guess there's a 99.99999999% chance this kid has been dealt a bad hand at home and doesn't have much of a shot to come out as a good person in life.

The adage is “ show me the boy at seven, and I will show you the man “. His character and temperament is formed. You can’t become like that unless you have been beaten and abused. Sadly the die is cast , the carrots are cooked . This is who he is. I’m sure if we check in on him in ten years there are victims ( including any girl he ever dates ) in his wake .
And as for the Gump, he handled that imperfectly but about as well as it can be done. The kid is essentially a rabid dog . If he won’t get off you, you have to push him away. I feel bad for the guy to be put in that position and have to take the BS that is sure to follow.

I’m glad the guy did what he did because the kid deserved it, but there’s no way I would put my hands on a kid that young. I would calmly call the cops.

This. Just catch one of those softballs and twist his arm behind his back and trip him down. Then he gets to eat grass with a knee in his back until the law comes.
Had the kid hit his head on the wall or the concrete, it may have ended badly for the man. He wasn't in danger and let his emotions get the best of him.

Culcha is just the black version of white trash, which is exactly what everyone has been calling this kid.
Why people don't call the cops sooner is beyond me. It should've never reached that point. Cops should've been called to the scene as soon as he was caught vandalizing vehicles.
