I think we are called Xillinails since we don't fit with either group of D-Bags. We can drive a stick, but don't still think U2 is cool. We know how to work an iPhone, but don't live with our parents.

Based on the actual birth rate and population figures from the Social Security Administration, not some uninformed MSM pseudo-journalist:
Baby boom: 1946 - 1964, about 70 million born
Gen X: 1964 - 1978~1980, birth rate dropped after birth control invented in 1964
Gen Y: 1978~1980 - 1990 aka MTV generation, Gen Y. 75 million born in 10-12 years, larger than baby boom generation.
Millenials: born 1990~1992, people 27 and under.
Beginning in 1990 there was a huge population and birth rate dropoff, as the US birth rate dropped below replacement level for the first time in over a century.
Just as one basic example of this trend, you can see the dramatic decline in aggregate college enrollment since 2008, which peaked exactly 18 years after 1990 and has fallen every year since. Look at the acceptance rate and yield figures for any top 25 university and you'll see the dramatic trend. The WSJ has profiled numerous colleges laying off staff or closing altogether.
Or the Archdiocese of New Orleans planning to close 2 schools per year for the next decade. Not to mention the other larger social/political/economic consequences that start rolling in around 2020 or so.

Man no one knows how generations work. Theres so many generations close to each other nowadays that one generation doesn't usually raise the next. They usually raise the 2nd generation that comes after them. Gen x is not raising millenials, they're only about 15 years older than them.

All of this generational envy crap really is ugly. Truth be known, every one of these American generations have had it easy compared to the majority of the world, and we'd be wise to at least recognize that fact, and just be grateful for what we have, not envious and bitter.

When I was a kid we aspried to have an automatic, not a standard, unless of course it was a sports car. I have no idea where this supposed fascination with driving a standard would have come from. Now, that being said, I still think it's important to at least be familiar with how to drive a standard.
