Cruise Ships are trashy, not even art can class them up

Any art is legit to some and a farce to others.
Cruise ships are no different.
I figured if I liked a painting, I'd put a price in my head and bid accordingly.

They're legit because standard rates of currency don't apply on international waters so you can pretty much bid any crazy amount and they have to give it to you.

Go in and bid tree fiddy on each piece. You’ll make a fortune as they increase in value over the years.

I've always wondered how many people buy the art on cruise ships.

A fair amount. My wife and her family bought several prints at auction. One was by a pretty cool artist I was able to find a documentary about. It was the only semi-fun thing I sat through during the entire cruise.

Legit.

I went for the free drinks.

Spent many times what the cruise cost because I’m a winner and I won.

Also: Go on and pony up for the framing. It’s a good deal over getting it done locally.

I picked up your use of the sarcasm font. I too love when they hype people up at an auction as if that person is “winning” something. Ummmm. You are buying that shite, not winning it.

My wife had an uncle that used to go to lots of flea markets all over the place. I asked him to be on the lookout for a velvet Elvis, and pick me one up if cheap. He got me one. We were living up north at the time. I kept it in the basement usually, but on occasion when we were hosting something at the house and having people over, particularly ones who had never been to our house before, I would take down the nice print from over our fireplace and put the velvet Elvis up in its place. It was fun to see how long it took for someone to bring up the subject of our “artwork” and their struggle to try to do it tactfully. Got tons of enjoyment out of that $20 spent. My wife finally made me stop.
