BATON ROUGE - A group of burglars made their way into several LSU students' dorm rooms as they were sound asleep over the weekend.

The LSU Police Department said the crimes happened at Herget Hall between the hours of 2:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5. Investigators said it appeared a student inside the dorm allowed the suspects inside earlier that morning before the four began pulling on door handles around the residential hall.

Several items were stolen, including a wallet, Apple watch and car keys. Two vehicles were then stolen from the parking lot, including that of the student who initially allowed the suspects inside the building.

Officers said all dorm rooms hit were unlocked at the time.

Police have identified four suspects: Marvin Keith Jones and Donte Jones were arrested Thursday night for burglary of an inhabited dwelling and theft of a motor vehicle. Police are also looking to arrest Jacoby and Jacory Cossett, a pair of juvenile twins with a history of committing crimes with the other two suspects.

Our DA said as long as you aren’t in a gang or a drug dealer the city is perfectly safe. I’ll bet the residents of these dorms and their parents would completely agree.

He also said we don’t have enough programs to keep these two from breaking the law. If we took some of the football coaches salary or spent the same amount on prevention programs, these two young lads wouldn’t have turned to a life of crime.

Again, I’d like to hear from the coeds and their parents on the DAs talking points. I wonder
If they’d agree with Hillar? Wonder what Chancellor Tate thinks of two dazzling young urbanites trodding the halls of the girls dorm at 2am seeking donations?
