I read there was a video of this. I wish we could just skip trials and go straight to the chair when there’s 100% proof.

Not saying that it was self defense but could a lawyer make that argument? It looks like Wayde was taking a swing at the shooter.

I did. As hard as it was to watch. Wasn’t the guy in the red striped pants the shooter? Wasn’t Wayde stepping in to throw a punch at him when the shot rang out?

I hope they fry the bastard but I’m worried that reasonable doubt could be argued for self-defense

You think shooting someone is an appropriate response to a punch?

I’ll give you a hint: it isn’t. He can’t claim self defense (and be successful).

Uh. Self defense in this case should only happen with a fist. You can't shoot someone because they took a swing.

They will definitely be able to find an attorney who will be able to claim self-defense. I’d imagine anytime you have someone 6’6” and throwing haymakers, if someone shoots him, it isn’t unreasonable to claim you were in fear for your life.
-not saying it is correct in this instance, but I’m sure that is going to be the guys defense.

Yes he can claim self-defense. It's not unreasonable to believe a punch from an athlete could cause major long term damage or even death.

I’m surprised they didn’t arrest a white guy

He can claim self defense and that is what will probably get him off of a first degree murder charge, but it won’t be successful.

How would this be first degree murder?

none of this appears premeditated
2nd degree murder would likely be the charge, there looks like plenty of witnesses to this event so there will be plenty of testimony to review relative to who was the aggressor
