More violence and worse economy.
But for sure the economy is worse.

I can only speak from my position as a middle class white person in Louisiana.

Nothing at our church. However, I'm fairly certain one of the ushers at 7am mass every Sunday is strapped.
Most churches have members who are concealed carrying. In LA it’s legal with the church’s permission.

The Catholic church I mostly grew up in and my parents still attend has hired an armed police officer for years to constantly walk the inner parameters and checking doors and such during Mass.

Even on school property?

Our society is sick.
We all need to work on making it well. I’ve never lived in a crack/gang infested ghetto or a war-torn area like Israel or Syria. I’m a middle class white southern American. But even for immigrants and people from lower class backgrounds, the American Dream is a peaceful middle class existence. You work hard in school, stay out of trouble, get a good job and work hard. Most of us won’t be billionaires. Your reward is a peaceful middle class existence. That feels more and more threatened these days. The social ills are not contained like they once were.

Religious violence has been the way of the world for thousands of years.
Except it's not really religious violence. It's anti-religious violence.

We have had one or two officers usually for at least 20 years.

Progressives are dangerous people so this is the way.
Leftist violence is something we all need to consider in our daily lives.

Most of us have left the stone ages. But since it's most and not all, here we are.
I'm thinking of starting the Knights Templar back up to protect Jesus loving Christians from the rest of the savage world.

Who's the clergy consist of? The medical/pharmaceutical complex?

Every church I’ve visited when in Houston area has police at Mass. They sit in the back and then do traffic control after.

Back in the 70’s and 80’s the father of a family of hot teen girls was a Memphis cop that drove the DWI van. He was always coming to Sunday night and Wednesday night services in uniform and strapped openly. Nobody thought anything about it.
He also liked to restore old mustangs and each girl got one when she turned 18. The eldest got my favorite version, a 68 fast back in baby blue with side pipes and mag wheels.

When I was a child our church had stained glass windows. The windows are still there, but there are fitted plexiglass covers protecting the outside on my childhood church and on most of the other churches with stained glass windows.

It is a reality of modern life. Evil people commit church shootings. Stay strapped!

We’ve had armed county deputies guarding our Catholic Church for as long as I can remember.

I carried for years when attending mass. I knew of a few other parishioners that were not going in to mass unarmed. God gave us the wisdom to be prepared.

The idea that the Church should need to armed protection is offensive. The idea we need guards on the house of God.
You can be offended all you like, but isn't the flock supposed to be guarded? Temples, churches, et al have been targets for thousands of years. You're way behind the times, man.
Hope and faith are not strategies, unless your faith is in .45ACP or a rifle caliber.
