I have no issue with someone expeditiously getting their dog to the vet in an emergency. When my dog was dying, I went 80-85 down I-49 (rural part) and a ran a red light after stopping at it after checking all traffic. But, on the two miles between the interstate and the vet's office there was enough traffic that (1) passing would be difficult and (2) passing would be ineffective because you would just hit more traffic.

Again. You don’t get to just go on a high speed chase because your dog is dying.

What if your parent or child is dying in the car?

Some people are very close to their pets and consider them to be part of the family, so I’ll give them a pass in this scenario.

You must have the “rule follower” type of personality.

Meh, seems like a perception bias of some sort.
I love my fuzzy buddy dearly (who’s laying right here by me), but people that seriously think this are thinking about their sweet dog(s), past ones, etc., and the general bad side of people, not considering the good people and the vicious dogs like pits and others.

Umm, you can’t drive like a fricking psycho and endanger other Human lives just because your dog is sick even dying. FFS.

But perfectly ok if late for work, going for a booty call, merging into traffic, or any of the other excuses people use to justify driving like a reckless fool.

FYI if you don’t have a dash cam get one. Saved me when someone pulled out in front of me and I had to avoid them. Woman called police told them I’d hit her car (car already had damage). Cops showed up showed them I had a dash cam. End of story

Jesus christ.

Here's a good little test of your logic. Call the ambulance for your dog and see what happens.

If someone driving like this to save their dog crashes into a relative and kills or injures them for life (that's what happens often when people drive this way), would you be okay with that?

In this DEI era, you just have to assume certain people are unqualified and wrong. It sucks for those hired and on the job, even if they are qualified, but their racist appointing authorities and Democrats are the ones to blame for this.

DEI? Come on dude. This is just become the catch all excuse for everything now? I’m one who loathes DEI, but labelling everything as such is no different than the leftist nutjobs calling everything Nazi and racist.

Sorry, but running a red light, nearly hitting a patrol car and then taking 2 minutes to finally pull over is getting your arrogant arse arrested, regardless of the race of you or the officer

Yeah, this is more like a mental health awareness video, to me....

Let me put it another way: Try using "dogs are better than most people" as a defense strategy in a vehicular homicide case and things very likely won't end well.

Officer was right to puill her over and cite her but went right to arrest before trying civility. A lecture and citations would have been enough in this case.

Some posters are trying to compare this to incidents where an officers asks someone to comply 10 or 11 times before throwing cuffs on and this is not that. The officer comes out hot with profanity even when she is dealing with a woman not acting defiant. She complies quickly after initial shock as she is in cuffs and in the squad car in under 30 seconds.

The cop lady must have thought it was going to be some ghetto piece of trash running from the cops the way she flew in there yelling and screaming at the lady and throwing her in handcuffs

Someone this unstable has no business being a police officer

You anti-cop nutjobs need counseling

A hysterically emotional women could have killed humans in her dash to save a dog that died. The passenger went right into the vets office with the dog, so there was no delay in getting it to the Dr. Her running from the cop after the dog was inside makes it worse. Who knows what the passenger took inside for the cop not to find in the car???

The dog wasnt going to make it cop, or not

yep...both parties in the wrong. Dog driver should have stopped and told officer story, officer should have then escorted her to vet. No reason to endanger the public.
