Nah, I think it's just very low self esteem.
I can guarantee you these boys that bang the teachers are the dickheads in class that don't leave them alone. They are probably on the teachers 24/7. Stopping in between classes, after school, telling them all kinds of compliments, etc. Eventually they get worn down.
I wouldn't doubt the boys get the teachers numbers and start texting them non stop. Teacher has a couple of glasses of wine one night and it gets out of control. Next thing you know they are sexting, then meeting up when the husband is out of town and have a fling.
Doesn't make it any more right. But hell most of us never had good looking teachers. Middle schools may also have the same teacher for multiple classes. Gives more time for the boys to work it. Couple that with a relationship issue, and the teacher missing something at home and boom.

Seriously, is this a teacher thing or a chick teacher thing? Because the stories seem to favor chicks by a huge margin...if this many males were doing this with teenage girls the media would be rioting about the dangerous epidemic

I suspect if male teachers were given as light of a sentence as females always are, it would be more prevalent
