Scruffy keeps in touch with the ones he wants to.

That was the reason Scruffy said he kept his in the beginning.

Then, he realized he didn’t even use it for that.

Sounds like you don’t really use it much.

The biggest reason I don’t use any of these sites is because I don’t like attention when it isn’t a regular situation with face to face interaction.

I don’t like having pictures of myself on Facebook. I don’t wear stickers after getting vaccinated. I don’t support our business putting pictures of me online.

The only people that I want to know that I exist are personal friends and family.

You don’t like taking selfies wearing a mask alone in your house and posting it to Facebook?

I Google my name occasionally and want as little returned as possible. I only get my LinkedIn and being listed as a surviving relative in a few obituaries.

My name isn't very common but there's a dude on Instagram with the same name. We don't look anything alike though.

well yeah...same for me

I just said it was the easiest way, not the only way

you've never heard anyone talk about "Facebook drama"?

how many people just on this site have posted something like "getting rid of FB was the best thing I ever did"

quote:

If you unfollow all the political people then you are left with a bunch of people who never post anything

not true for me

I use it all the time for my groups and buying/selling

I guess I should have clarified that I don't post much on my personal page, but I am active in the groups

Well of course, I’ve just never known anyone to say it caused problems in their lives seeing Facebook drama. I never knew anyone who personally aired their problems like that on Facebook except maybe some college aged people. Most of my friends on there were adults who I guess just simply didn’t do that

It is for me, most people I personally know and work with just simply don’t post much, my family is the same way. Maybe that’s why it got boring

not causing problems by seeing FB drama, but being a part of it

Never had anything but Facebook. Left and tried Parler and then the communist shut it down. Funny, they shut parler down for sharing links to twitter and youtube where all the coverage of storming the capitol was live.

Bumper sticker I once saw:

Well being part of Facebook drama is weird and if it ever happened to anyone I know, I guess I didn’t know about it. I have of course heard of it happening to people, a fireman from another department got in trouble for posting all lives matter and told to take it down, but I didn’t personally know him.

I’m just simply saying I don’t personally know anyone who has said Facebook caused a problem in their life, but obviously it has to many people

well me either

that comment was for all the people that post something like "quit FB 2 years ago and it was the best decision I've ever made" on here every time there is a FB thread

I don't think those people quit because it was too boring

You posted before my edit Obviously there are many it has caused problems for. I agree, that’s pretty sad

For shits and giggles I just checked my Facebook account. I have 342 friends on there, but have 129 of them unfollowed so I never see their posts. I don't even rememebr why I unfollowed most of them. Of the 213 remaining, I'd say only about 50 of them are real active on there as far as posting new content. My entire feed was littered with posts from media outlets and companies I've followed over the years. I should probably go through and unfollow all of those.

I quit because I didn't want to see everyone's political rants all the time and I didn't want to say something that would get me in trouble.

I have like 5 good friends in life and on Facebook I had 500. Those aren't my friends and I don't need to know what they had for dinner

The whole cancel culture phenomenon simply reaffirmed this for me and I decided to delete Twitter too.

I wouldn't know. Deleted FB a year ago, and Twitter banned me because I pointed out BLM killed a cop I knew in BR a few years ago.

I still use FB as well as many friends and family. I love seeing what my friends are up to with their kids, keeping up with their sports, fishing, hunting stuff.

There are several groups that I belong to that FB helps spread information efficiently.
I follow a few bars and restaurants to see upcoming specials and events.

Five or so years ago I purged a bunch of people I don't care to hear from and of course deleted any drama and politard types.

It works fine for me.

This is me also.

My version of FB is ongoing group texts with friends and family. Nobody outside of those circles need to know what I'm doing and vice versa.

The thing with Facebook is your feed is mostly a product of your settings. If you're seeing posts from people or businesses you don't want to see, unfollow or defriend them. The ads there isn't much you can do about, but if you're seeing political posts from friends you don't want to see, that's an easy fix.

Twitter is even more customizable. It has less ads than Facebook, and it's easy to unfollow annoying accounts.
