Yes. I live outside of Philadelphia and near NJ. We are required to wear a mask when leaving the house.
I don't wear gloves unless grocery shopping. I wear them and toss them as soon as I leave the store.
Wearing a mask won't hurt you. It isn't a big deal - except when running. I find it hard to wear mask while running.

Haven’t been but we got an email over the weekend that they are going to require us to wear them at work now. Jesus.

Most of the stores in our area (suburb of DFW) have signs "No Mask No Entry".
Including Kroger

Well my example is a FACT. So I ask again, what overwhelmed hospitals are you referring to?

I have noticed almost all the people that are very overweight are wearing masks. Also seems like more women than men.

No
But I do curbside and avoid the stores......they are fricking packed.

No question. Covid still isn't worse than the flu though. We have flu shots and STILL lose tens of thousands of people. I've personally had the flu in a season where I took the shot.

How is wearing a mask and gloves counter-productive
Your post is proof of what I'm saying.
The overwhelming majority are wearing filthy masks and gloves.
Single use items over and over or not properly sanitizing their cloth masks.
They are disgusting and loaded with a lot more than Coronavirus.
I keep 6 feet from everyone but I try for 10 when near one of these dummies with their disgusting filthy masks and gloves.
Wash your fricking hands and stop touching your face (which a mask makes you do more, have to fix your mask!)
No one thinks anymore.

Counterproductive: having the opposite of the desired effect.
Again, in your scenario let’s assume everyone is wearing used masks for days without washing them.
Please explain how this would have the opposite of the desired effect of helping to minimize the potential spread.

I am old.
Not that it could be proven but I would never forgive myself if my dumbass did not wear one and ended up infecting someone else, even you dumbass, smartass, know-it-all tough guys on here who claim not to be worried.
Call my beta or whatever it is y'all say but I can probably kick the shite out of over half of you youngsters on here and would if need be.
If I can't whip your arse, you better kill me because I'll shoot your arse a dozen ways to Sunday.
I wear a mask at work albeit it's on ambulance runs. I'm far from a know it all though. Nothing beta about wearing a mask to protect others. And you probably aren't much older than I am

My wife made a mask but it has hearts on it, I told her I'm not wearing a mask with hearts on it and the strap looks gay. TBH, I only go to store once a week and hold my breath damn near everytime I walk by someone

I’d love to hear their reasoning on why they think wearing a mask in their car protects them.

They touch the outside of their nasty masks with their nasty hands or gloves and spread their nasty germs across every thing they touch.
When they remove their nasty masks they touch the outside and put whatever the mask collected onto their hands and risk infecting themselves and others.
They place the dirty crap on their kitchen counters and tables placing germs where they weren't.
They and everyone else would be better off with nothing.
There are 2 groups that should wear masks, only 2.
1. Those that are sick.
2. Those caring for the sick.
That's all. Period. It does no good for anyone else and has been proven to be counterproductive.
This is all about "feelings". Feeling like you are chipping in.
It makes no sense at all to anyone capable of critical thinking.
Gloves and masks worn for the right reason and following the proper protocols are fine.
Keep hands washed, don't touch your face. If you need to touch your face wash before and after.
If you are sick, stay home.

It is amazing how many mouth breathers on the OT haven’t figured this out.
Don't talk ignorant child. You honestly think a piece of ill-fitted cotton across your stupid mug is going to do a damned bit of good keeping virus particles that are 0.1 - 0.22 microns in size from escaping by the millions if you cough or sneeze? Even well fitting N95 masks can't do that. You aren't doing anyone a favor but keep on patting yourself on the back. Retard...
