We just didn't hear about most of them or were too naive to think there was such a thing.

But the assassinations have been replaced by character assassinations.

Better not be any skeletons in those closets.Pretty soon there won't be anybody with a clean enough background to be dog catcher.

It started far before the Clintons were even born.

Well we deserve it. As a people we are superficial and shallow, petty, easily influenced and getting dumber.

We are an authoritarians dream

This has been happening since the beginning of civilization.

It's a result of us slowly handing over more and more power to the government. You think the founding fathers were stupid? Just because the iPhone was invented doesn't mean the basic principles of human behavior changed.

quote:

I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. - Thomas Jefferson

quote:

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Ben Franklin

The founding fathers understood the key to avoid all of this was to keep power in the hands of the people. Career politicians are exactly what they feared. Hell George Washington initially turned down the presidency, they had to beg him.

The biggest mistake in the countries history will be considering the Constitution a "living document". We can't handle that.

It's what pisses me off most about anti second amendment people saying "do you really need your guns?". Yes shitheads we do. Stop giving up your rights to the government.

Their job will be easier with so many states beginning to legalize weed. It's the only reason it will happen soon in the Bible Belt.

Nobody really believes Trump, or even the politicians in Alabama, care about abortions, do they? They just want to stay in office. Can't get Mexico to pay for a wall, so we'll "keep" another promise at the state level, and say we're supporting each other. Time to call everyone for political contributions now.

Nice to see you are finally becoming self-aware. Now go to bed before your parents ground you.
