They are still here. Carencro is still full of them. the ones you saw just grew up and got jobs and cannot just hang out. New Iberia is still the mecca for them. Also, The gangsta wardrobe isnt as noticeable as it was in the 90's. They wear skinny jeans and jordans. The gansta wardrobe started leaning more white.

Oh they’re out there. I teach high school, and over half the white boys want to dress like they’re from the “streets” and call each other the n word. It’s funny tbh

They're still out there, just less subtle. Nowadays they usually just have buzzcuts, listen to Hiphop frequently, date black girls but are don't go all in on the clothing or forced blaccent.
