If you are looking to avoid asinine assertions, I would strongly suggest not clicking "My Posts" up at the top of your screen. It's potheads like you that are bringing down our society.

Just going to consider for your own benefit that you are trolling at this point.

If your concern is about people driving then you should lobby for cellphones to become illegal.

With alcohol and tobacco legal, there is no reason why marijuana should be illegal.

Tobacco lobby groups put so much money into trying to keep it illegal because they haven't figured out a way to profit from it.

Actually not true.

Tobacco has bought up thousands of weed patents and already has infrastructure to mass produce.

Big pharma and private prison lobbies are the ones that are keeping it illegal.

Not bull shite, but horse shite.

I am still against weed being legal. Why? Till they come up with a test that can tell on the spot if someone is high, there is NO difference if someone is buzzed on beers, ect.

Yes, I smoked it as a teen and then again 45 years later. The shite they have now is 100 times stronger then what they had 45 years ago.

I don't have a strong opinion about legalizing it or not, but if it is legalized I suspect more employees will get fired from testing positive.

I don't want any impaired employees working where I work at an industrial construction company. I don't even want redstick13 falling out of his office chair . Then I'd have to open a workers comp claim and the BS that goes along with it.

Just had an employee recently witnessed by a coworker smoking weed in the yard. Ole boy went prepared for the test, first sample he gave tested negative, but he didn't study enough to know there would be a split sample..positive on the second sample. First call to him..."But I dindunuffin, this is bullshite!" After positive "yeah, to be honest, smoked about 3 weeks ago."

As someone who doesn't smoke pot, I personally have little to gain from the potential decriminalization of marijuana use.

Same. My job will always test for it too. I think it's stupid that we are putting people in prison over weed.

I still would like to know how we benefit as a society from its illegality.

The alcohol lobby stands to lose from marijuana being legalized and they are fighting it. I think it's a battle that they are losing too. GenX and Millennials mostly have different views on marijuana than the Reefer Madness generation

The Sheriffs and DAs in Louisiana still think it should be very illegal. More money for prisons and tanks.

Marihuanais a violent narcotic -- an unspeakable scourge -- The Real Public Enemy Number One! Its first effect is sudden, violent, uncontrollable laughter; then come dangerous hallucinations -- space expands -- time slows down, almost stands still... fixed ideas come next, conjuring up monstrous extravagances -- followed by emotional disturbances, the total inability to direct thoughts, the loss of all power to resist physical emotions... leading finally to acts of shocking violence... ending often in incurable insanity.

In picturing its soul-destroying effects no attempt was made to equivocate. The scenes and incidents, while fictionalized for the purposes of this story, are based upon actual research into the results of Marihuana addiction. If their stark reality will make you think, will make you aware that something must be done to wipe out this ghastly menace, then the picture will not have failed in its purpose... Because the dread Marihuana may be reaching forth next for your son or daughter... or yours or YOURS!

In my opinion it should be left up to each individual state to vote on its legalization.

I'm indifferent on it, because I don't care. My employer would still likely drug test, and I'm not losing my awesome job over weed.

Gun to my head, I'd vote to legalize it because I believe in personal freedoms and the potential positive economic effects that could occur.

Because you can't be high at work?

Would you argue with your employer if they fired you for being drunk at the office?

I believe states/cities/counties should have the right to decide what they want (people should vote on it) and the Feds have no say in it. Personally I think it's absurd that someone can be thrown in jail for lighting a wild plant on fire and inhaling the smoke. Alcohol is 1000X more dangerous and destructive than marijuana.

Try and read that again

Why would more employees start failing drug tests just because pot is legalized?
