I am not from B.R. but have been to Churchill's. Don Juan and HabanaPort are both solid, New Orleans-based businesses with great shops here. I would expect that the Baton Rouge locations would be solid places, too.

I am sorry to hear about Bayou closing. I was just starting to smoke, in 1997 working on my Masters at LSU, commuting from greater New Orleans. I would stop at Bayou on the way home and buy a cigar to smoke for the drive. This gives me the sads.

Most of the tobacconists were run out of town by TD posters and pansies

started going to Bayou Tobacco off of Acadian and now they closed down.

When in BR, I would always hit up Bayou Tobacco, didn't realize they shut down. I think I was there maybe a few months ago.

Churchill's on Jefferson has a solid humidor but is weak on their selection of pipes and pipe tobacco. New Orleans is in bad shape too after the Tinder Box shut down. Now just some cigar places. If you are looking for pipes and tobacco nothing but slim pickings.

I am mostly in the Orlando area and we still have a couple nice shops but even so I general buy online for the better selection of tinned tobacco and not having to drive in to Orlando. All these loose tobaccos are either Lane or Stokkebye and can be found online. Bayou had a few nice perique blends though.

Your penis wasn’t what you thought it was? What did you think it was? An AA battery?

Here’s what you need to do, you need to start buying weed to fill up that pipe and get these cigars called Backwoods and gut that and fill it up with weed. It’s better for you than tobacco and it’ll make you feel really good baw

...but isn’t Mary-Jew-Wanna ILLEGAL!?

Won’t it make me go crazy? And violent?

Isn’t the Devil’s Reefer what all those negro jazz musicians smoke?

I don’t think I want to get hooked on Lucifer’s Lettuce and go insane. Better to stick with good old American products from our top notch scientists, like laudanum and thalidomide!

You’re right baw, I hear one puff of it has a 100% addiction rate, and the withdrawals are worse than withdrawal symptoms from heroin

I have NO DESIRE to go into a vape store. I want an old bearded man and a store that smells of smoke and leather and mahogany. Not Froot Loops and spaghetti-os

That was only excuse for going to the mall.
My go-to pipe smoke was a specific blend that they made. Good thing I got a huge bag before they closed.

Do you wear a Sherlock Holmes hat and monocle when you smoke your pipe?

I honestly can’t remember the last time I smelled someone smoking a pipe.

It always reminded me of going to Saints games at Tulane stadium when I was kid. Guy behind us smoked a pipe, and had that thing lit the entire game. Loved the way it smelled...
