Just asking. Because that’s being pushed right now.

I’m not claiming to understand the logic with the above statement. It doesn’t make sense to me at all.

But I recognize this stance from when The Bell Curve came out. A lot of progressives criticized Charles Murray instead of addressing his findings.

The fact that these standardized tests carry the predictive power that they do with who will succeed in their academic career makes me think they are doing a decent job at staying fair.

Holy fricking crap.

How is this not an insult to black folks?

So if you can’t pass the same tests white folks can, get rid of it is the answer?

Everything is racist.

No debate.
Your actions or inactions do not establish anything other than the fact that you are racist.

There is nothing that you can do or say that can change your racism.

There is nothing you cannot do or not say that can change your racism.

Descartes said it best, “I think, therefore, I am racist.”

Ok, college entrance requirements are racial. I get it. Don’t apply yourself in high school cause you do not need it anymore. Surely you will develop the needed discipline and study habits in college. The next step will be be testing in school is racist. If you go to class, you pass & get your degree. And this system will develop the leaders the county needs down the road. Sad state of affairs and a grim future, but the irony is all will be enslaved to a life of entitlement. So much for freedom.

Testing is for the weak. Challenging is for the strong.

I can kind of see their point. But still, most universities hide behind the “SAT/ACT are just one of many factors in our enrollment decisions”.

But I agree that, in general, blacks/minorities have less access the same educational rich environments that whites have.

But not because of the SAT/ACT.

quote:

Figures 3C-4 through 3C-6 show that for any SAT score, students from disadvantaged groups have a higher probability of being admitted than students from advantaged groups. In other words, how UC uses the test scores appears to be to help identify students within each socioeconomic group who are most likely to succeed.

No, a certain culture just doesn’t seem to give a frick about education and higher learning among other things.

The podcast with Sam Harris is MUST listen material.

Race science is unfortunately very taboo in the modern day. It’s a fascinating subject.
