How racist does someone have to be to oppose an extra day off?
if you’re not racist, you support defunding the police
ironically, that also means you support more black people being murdered in the streets like animals

Interesting question. How do you feel about Confederate Memorial Day?

A company I may currently, may have previously, or may have never done work for is really going over the top for Pride Month this year. Giving away prizes and everything to celebrate Pride Month although they’ve officially stated in the release that you don’t have to be LBQjsjdjdudjsj to participate and win a prize. So, that’s nice of them.

I'm still in disbelief that the city of New Orleans is celebrating a holiday that literally says slavery is allowed in the city.
Emancipation Proclamation

Technically yes, but it won't be in affect until August 1 of this year and they will recognize the 3rd Saturday of the month. So if you want a day off from working for the state, you will have to wait till next year to see if they will give that Friday or Monday off for the Saturday Holiday.

Most of the blacks have no fricking clue what juneteenth is. 99% of them think it’s when the last of the slaves were freed in the US.
Buncha ignorant fricks.
I think it’s funny it falls within days of Father’s Day each year. It’s like they’re trying to erase that holiday. They want everything.

It's a Saturday, so yes.

Apparently Juneteenth is on its way to becoming a national holiday. That begs the question, will I get paid time off for it?
I'm guessing most private companies will say no, but I'm holding out hope until they say otherwise.

We have the "option" to take the day off.

Are state offices going to be closed for Juneteenth?
Considering it's on a Saturday, yes.
But if they're closed at least you know they aren't doing anything. Better than them being open and still not doing anything.

Surprised Biden hasn't declared it a federal holiday. I'm sure he will speak about this on that day, but forgot to mention our veterans who died on Memorial Day.
His son (Beau, not the shitty one) was a vet who died of a brain tumor.
I'm sure he spoke on Memorial Day.

I would love for Juneteenth to become a federal holiday since it normally falls on or around my birthday
would be ecstatic to have a day off for my birthday ever year

Juneteenth is officially a thing. I had all kinds of pride and racial sensitivity training zoom invites pop up on my calendar for work on the 19th. I deleted all the shite.
Corporate headquarters sent out some idiotic Pride email. Much like a Spiderman Tuba post where you don't read and just downvote, I didn't read and just deleted.
Not a word about Juneteenth so far. Cancel the Board of Directors!

How can the same day every year fall on or around your birthday. It's June 19th, it's either your birthday or not baw

I'll observe the holiday from my job
Posted on 6/16/21 at 1:51 pm to Mingo Was His NameO
I'm dumb. It's the day after. I'd still get a day off if it fell on a weekend, like this year.
