My Walmart Sceptres have lasted longer than Sony

I have never replaced a Sony because it died on me. I have because it lived too long and needed to be upgraded. I always find myself shopping for the best “deal”, but Sony is worth the dollar it cost.

Pretty much all I buy when it comes to TV's is Sony. They have the best customer service in the business as well. They really went out of their way to take care of me about 15 years back and I have never forgotten it.
Things may have changed.
I bought a 55” from them a few years ago, and the power unit kept going out. Tech came to my home and replaced it twice, then it popped again. They wanted to repair again, but I asked what happens when the warranty ends. They waffled on that. I had to fight like hell to get through 8 levels of foreign incompetence to finally get them to replace it. One of the most frustrating experiences ever.
The replacement TV has been fine, but their customer service was nothing to inspire my loyalty when I had a dud.

I have a Sony box TV in my bedroom. Bought it in 2001 when i first moved out of my parents' house.
Still runs like a charm. Sony's last for life. You can't go wrong.

Zenith is the way to go. High quality wood and workmanship. Doubles as a useful display table.
We had one when I was growing up in early 80’s that almost looked just like that... the day you could get a cable box and remote was like the day iPhone tech came out.... not having to get up and manually change the channel was a game changer. By 87 I had an original Nintendo and 13” tv in my room with a remote. And a cassette boom box... those were the days... internet has ruined kids now

I had a Sony 55” Bravia as my main TV for 5 years. Great TV but as someone said early, the smart tv interface sucks and the tv updates way too often and for about 30 minutes each time.
I bought a Samsung last year which became the new primary tv and the Sony recently was moved outside. Still works like a charm though.

I’ve had Sony for about 20 years, starting in college with 48” 5 ft tall projection tv.... loved that tv. Recently had lightning strike on house which fried my 2 Sony’s... think I might get the LG OLED now unless I can find out more about 2021’s... when do 2021 models come out?

I’ve had bad experience with LG.

I've had a 40 inch Bravia in my bedroom since 2007. I'd upgrade, but it still works like the day I bought it.

We need a thread on products that the OT officially sponsors.
I gathered that the OT supports Michelin for tires. So that's that one
Add Speed Queen washers to that list. Best OT advised thing I ever purchased.

The Sony we have is by far the best we’ve ever had. The motion in 4K is so smooth.

I have sony and LG in my store at work. They run about 15 hours a day. The Sony's seem to last slightly longer than the LG's but they do cost a bit more. Hope that info helps
