What's the literally quickest way to bring the hammer of Thor down onto them? Team up with an Islamic militant group and help them sneak across the border. They have a good thing going re the border. Doesn't make sense to frick that all up.

Eh, not so much. If that were the case, then they would have already been locked down due to credible threats. Yet our borders remain wide open for the taking.

yeah let's ignore the whole "if the US found out the cartels were complacent, we'd frick them up" angle

if ANY terrorism starts doing down through the SW border, we are locking that shite up like never before

legit national security threats = giving the US the reason to devote resources to closing our border

ignore any association. if this just HAPPENS, the cartels are fricked. that's why i said it's much more likely the US works with cartels to eliminate this risk (just like we may ally with motherfricking Iran in the ME to combat ISIS...IRAN!)

Don't get me wrong. The cartels are primarily catholic I assume. Isis is Muslim base. Wouldn't that be conflicting?

The cartels don't give a shite about religion. What form of Catholicism are they practicing exactly? They are motivated purely by their own interests

I work about .4 miles from the border point of entry and today they are running a mock exercise of a scenario where the cartel is running from the Mexican police/army and attempting to cross into the US. You should see the amount of equipment they have here just for that. I can't imagine what it would look like if ISIS was knocking at the door.

I think this is coming sooner.

"Hey Iran.. we got parts for your 1970 US Naval planes you bought and haven't been able to get parts for since 1979"

You've allowed your politics and arrogance to blind you to any opinion that does not fit into your worldview. That's sad.

No, it's in AZ which is where some of the most desolate and remote areas of the border are. The exact spot where I suspect they would cross if this whole scenario ever played out (which is highly unlikely).

The posters that are making the most sense in this topic are getting down votes. There is no way the Isis would join the cartel. This is just a another scare tactic coming into fruition.

if ISIS is recruiting Americans to go fight in the ME, they already have a population center within the US to enact terror plots

i am still waiting on a reason why the cartel(s) would join with ISIS

They likely won't. I suppose there's always a possibility but there's really no advantage for the cartels to team up with them.
