I don't care if it's trashy. Pays for itself after 1 avoided ticket (usually).

They aren’t as useful lately with laser/instant on radar guns and the free use of the waze app on your phone to notify you where police are set up.

Alternatively, you could exercise your 2A rights and go get a concealed carry permit. I’m 3/3 on being released with a warning after providing CCP with license and being respectful fwiw.

I've heard it describes as a "certified good guy card" by a cop friend before. It 100% helps.

No, but it also is not a free pass to speed all you want.

Only when they're in a jacked up 2005 F150 with a crack in the illegal tinted windshield, subwoofers slapping, and truck nutz dragging the ground on the way home

Yes. Extremely. Nothing worse than riding with someone and having the thing beep the whole time

I travel fairly often through La., Texas, and the southeast, and in the 4 years I've had my detector, I can count on one hand the number of times I've come across a cop with laser. 95%+ are still using radar, and it picks them up a quarter to a half mile away every time. I was pretty surprised how few use laser once I started using mine.

No. But they aren't as effective as they used to be with laser. I trust in Waze, and looking for brake lights.

I get hit with everything equally as much, but mainly laser on the interstates

I use a V1, laser jammer, and Waze

I wish there was a way to integrate them into the dash on the newer cars.

The only time I've ever used one is the only time I've gotten a ticket, got me with a laser on the interstate.
