...or are they just bored?

LINK

I'll give you the obvious ones like Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis. But Calhoun, Capdeville, Lane, Mouton?? No one knows who these people are- Confederate or not. Who cares?

Are there people driving down Calhoun Street having panic attacks because it's a Confederate name? Calhoun is Irish. Have a beer and relax.

When the most crucial thing about your political movement is pissing off the other side you can't really be surprised when they respond in kind

On the other side of the argument..

I like having a MLK street in every city. Let's you know which area to avoid.

Houma has the nicest MLK I’ve ever seen. You want business? Open up there.

When I hear Calhoun I think of the crazy lawyer on Amos n Andy.

They pretend to care for the attention. When your entire cause is founded on a fantasy you have to keep searching out oppression.

That’s why you should never give in to the mob. It will never be enough, regardless of the issue; statues, flags, street names, guns. It’s exactly why 2A people aren’t willing to budge on “high capacity” magazine/gun issue. Once you give in to one gun issue, they’ll be coming for something else.

I dont want business in houma. Maybe a few decades ago, and if they legalize cannabis there. May would have a location there and in central Louisiana to go along with my new Orleans property I'd convert

Calhoun

Funny you mention that name—while growing up on the MS Gulf Coast, that’s what I always heard the older folks call North Mississippians. “Bunch of Calhouns”.

So if a Confederate soldier has killed anyone since 1820? Umm, I’ve got some news for you.

No.
They're only upset because they're told to be.

Like Funnymaine's rioting arse. Those folks had no clue who the statue in the park was until he baited them into going to tear it down. They had to be told they needed to be upset.

This is not about the Confederacy.

If so, why would they deface monuments to George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Jefferson. In the UK they’ve to cover up Winston Churchill’s statue. We’ve all seen the evidence of the vandalism to the black union soldiers monument.
